Amazing Thai, a new restaurant by local entrepreneur Ja Redfern, opened on May 3 on the south side at 3015 S.
Lafountain St. next to Pizza King. The opening was supported by a city loan from Kokomo’s Revolving Loan Fund—designed to boost local small business growth.
🎓 Education
Indiana University Kokomo experts Patrick Motl and Paul Cook will lead a free community conversation about using AI tools on Wednesday, June 4 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bier Brewery (1618 S.
10th St., Noblesville), discussing how AI can transform work, education, and daily life.
Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Service Area held three commencement ceremonies on Friday at Hingst Hall in the Health Professions Center for the class of 2025.
The events honored 1,128 graduates — who are expected to finish 1,432 credentials by the end of Fall 2024 and Spring and Summer 2025 — with ceremonies at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Kokomo School Board will meet at 5:00 p.m. Monday at the Administrative Service Center at 1500 S.
Washington St.—the board is set to appoint a new member following the death of Charley Hinkle. Four candidates, Adrienne Akers, Greg Finley, Kari Hunter and Joey Hurlocker, were interviewed last week and the chosen appointee will serve through 2028.

On Thursday, Western won 14 to 2 on Senior Night, with AJ Helmberger recording seven strikeouts in four scoreless innings and Gavin Denton hitting a key home run in the second inning.
The Panthers scored 13 runs in the third inning while Taylor scored one in the fifth—both teams started 10 a.m. games on Saturday.
