  • Secondhand Stories is a cozy local bookstore at 107 West Mulberry Street that opens with a mission to keep books out of landfills and make reading accessible to all — owner Sarah Janssen welcomes visitors with a warm smile and even offers a local bakery cookie. The shop features a changing selection of books, a reading nook nicknamed 'Husband Parking,' and a boutique of locally made items — inviting neighbors to enjoy a quiet space for connection.  The Kokomo Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The League of Women Voters will meet today at 6 p.m. with Jennifer Sexton, nursing director at Howard County Health Department, to discuss public funding cuts on health that are affecting local community programs. Sexton will detail changes to initiatives including the Food as Medicine Program and immunization outreach.  Kokomo Tribune

HEALTH NEWS

  • Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo unveiled a $3 million upgrade to its surgery unit yesterday, renovating operating rooms and expanding the surgical prep and recovery area to provide more privacy for patients. SPORTS NEWS

  • On November 14, Taylor's Lady Comets won 54-52 over Eastern's Lady Titans as they rallied in the final quarter—Kiera Phelps scored 23 points and helped extend the close contest. Eastern remains winless this season and will travel to Rossville on November 21.  Kokomo Lantern
