- ➤ Duke Energy Foundation is awarding $207,000 in grants to seven nonprofits in north central Indiana—supporting hunger relief as colder weather and the holidays approach—and the total funding reaches $311,000 this year to help local programs provide food and aid. Giant.fm
- ➤ Dozens of people gathered at Kokomo Memorial Park for a medal of honor ceremony honoring veteran Simon Harris who served with Youngs Scouts during the 1899 Philippine-American War. The event featured a 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps as a tribute to his century-old bravery. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ Legion Circle has celebrated 100 years of honoring veterans — an American flag whipped next to Billy Caldwell’s headstone on Friday — while locals remember his service.
