- ➤ On Halloween at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, city officials unveiled the new Prospect League baseball team name 'Creek Chubs' chosen by over 900 local voters—45% in favor despite most reactions on social media being negative. - ➤ The annual We Care Trim-A-Tree Festival at Markland Mall is underway and will run through Nov. 16 to raise funds for local groups—voters may view creative decorated trees and bid at an auction starting Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. The We Care Store at 1700 E. - ➤ Indiana University Kokomo is offering free FAFSA help on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. for students and families as part of College Goal Sunday. The event is held at the university (2300 S. Washington St.) and is one of 34 statewide sites assisting with financial aid applications. Pharos-Tribune

- ➤ All veterans and active-duty military personnel in their vehicles will be admitted free to DNR-managed state parks, reservoirs, forest and off-road recreation areas on Tuesday, Nov. 11—this offer covers access to the Falls of the Ohio State Park’s Interpretive Center.
