- ➤ Gloria Yoder, the third writer of The Amish Cook column, attended the annual Amish Teachers’ Institute with school parents today—she joined hundreds drawn to the bustling event. Kokomo Tribune
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Indiana Health Centers at Kokomo opened a new pharmacy to give residents quicker access to medications. Rebekah Price said riders often had to schedule bus rides a day ahead for prescriptions — the new service will allow them to get their medications faster. Kokomo Tribune
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ A Kokomo collector finished a 1940s basketball card set that includes a card of Arthur Spector who played for the Boston Celtics from 1946 to 1950—his rare find shows a piece of sports history—. The complete set marks a milestone in local sports memorabilia collecting. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ Western defeated West Lafayette by a score of 20 to 14 in the IHSAA football state tournament Friday night and advanced to Sectional 27 semifinals—key plays came from Levi Shoemaker and two touchdowns by Brycen Rucker. They will face Frankton on October 31. The Kokomo Post
