- ➤ Local organizers compiled a list of trunk-or-treat events for Halloween in Howard County to help families plan their candy hunt while a freeze warning from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. today warned of sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 that may damage crops and outdoor plumbing—residents should protect tender plants. - ➤ Friends of Rea Park raised $800,000 to renovate the clubhouse for community gatherings and a wider range of park activities. The project is ongoing and will be completed by summer 2026 — a move that preserves this historic hub for future generations. Kokomo Tribune
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Joshua Manghelli at Community Howard Regional Health urged Kokomo residents to perform regular self-breast exams and mammograms during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to catch cancer early. He explained that women at average risk should begin annual 3-D mammograms at age 40 (with earlier screenings for those at higher risk) as the hospital partners with MD Anderson to provide top treatment options.
