  • City officials renamed a street in honor of former MLB pitcher Tom Underwood after he impressed locals with his play at Wildkats and Post 6 American Legion team—he was once drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1972.  Kokomo Tribune

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Summers of Kokomo, Inc. received the BBB Torch Award for Ethics for its strong commitment to customers shown through transparent service summaries and on-site walkthroughs — practices that build trust. The award, announced by BBB Serving Central Indiana, highlights the company’s long history of honest service since 1969.  Giant.fm
  • Stellantis reaffirmed on Monday that it would invest $100 million in its Kokomo plants to produce a new four‐cylinder engine—an investment expected to create more than 100 jobs. The move will boost local production—supporting the regional economy.  Kokomo Tribune
  • Stellantis said it will spend $13 billion in the next four years to bring five new vehicles and a new four-cylinder engine to US plants, adding 100 jobs in Kokomo and more than 5,000 across the country. The company’s plan—its biggest in 100 years—will boost production by 50% with work in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.  Giant.fm

CULTURE NEWS

  • For the second year, local residents shared ghost stories about haunted sites—Seiberling Mansion, Gateway Gardens Apartments, Fade Salon, and Adams Mill became focal points for eerie sightings and unexplained noises. Many witnesses reported objects moving and strange voices during Kokomo's spooky season.  The Kokomo Post

  • Michaela Main teaches music at Anderson Preparatory Academy Elementary School where she goes beyond books to teach children in social, emotional, and academic ways — focusing on the whole child.
