- ➤ Western captured the Hoosier Conference Big Division crown with a 35-34 win over Logansport on Senior Night as Daniel Ousley, Levi Shoemaker, and Brycen Rucker made key plays and recovered an onside kick to seal the win—Western will head to Twin Lakes for their final regular-season game. - ➤ A local 61-year-old hunter celebrated Opening Day of the Indiana Archery Deer Season on Oct. 1 by bagging a doe dedicated to his late friend Carson Hughes. He began his morning at 5 a.m., prepared carefully (including fixing a dropped flashlight), and processed his kill while planning future outings with his grandson. Kokomo Lantern
