- ➤ Today, the Kokomo YMCA unveiled the WIBIT — a giant inflatable obstacle course with a climbing wall, slide, and ninja course over its indoor pool that promises nonstop fun for families. The Kokomo Post
- ➤ The Salvation Army Office at 1105 S. Waugh St. in Kokomo is hosting the TodayCoats for Kids 2025 collection and is accepting new and gently used winter coats from 8:30 a.m. to noon + 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays. Kokomo Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Alayna Kline, a senior at Kokomo High School, was named the Howard County Distinguished Young Woman in a scholarship program that values strong interview and public speaking skills. She will compete in the state contest in February to win thousands in scholarship money. Kokomo Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After Congress failed to pass a stopgap measure to avoid a government shutdown, Gov. Mike Braun said at a public safety event that Indiana is less dependent on federal largess and that Hoosiers will get through it. He added that if essential benefits are lost temporarily, the state may act to keep them in place—promising a measured response if needed. Pharos-Tribune
