COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday Annette and Dr. Larry Phipps hosted a hog roast at their Walton farm to raise funds for veterans and their families. The event supported the Magnus Veterans Foundation+ which works to restore the body, heart, mind and spirit of those it serves. Pharos-Tribune
- ➤ Ernie Gasho, who worked for 50 years at the Dentzel Carousel, celebrated his long career this past Sunday with gifts from the carousel team. He also became the fourth person to receive a key to the city from Mayor Chris Martin’s administration. Pharos-Tribune
- ➤ Ivy Tech will host an expungement and resource fair at the Logansport facility on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—local attorneys and Indiana Legal Services will offer free legal guidance to low income residents to clear their criminal records according to state requirements. Volunteers from Ivy Tech and local organizations will also provide additional resource information for the community. Kokomo Lantern
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kokomo City Council passed the trash fee ordinance on Monday evening when about 50 residents attended the meeting and approved the ordinance by a vote of 7—1 during its second reading. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ 4C Health will launch a new High-Acuity Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Unit tomorrow—designed to provide immediate support for individuals facing behavioral health crises. Pharos-Tribune

- ➤ Coffee is a 4-month-old stray kitten chosen as Pet of the Week for his energy and affection—local residents interested in adopting him are encouraged to visit Petco. His lively personality makes him a promising new pet for Kokomo. Kokomo Tribune
