- ➤ Last Friday, John Branyan performed unscripted improv at the Howard County-Kokomo South Library's Firefly Stage during a cool summer evening—introduced by his daughter who engaged the crowd with a lighthearted question about whether they thought their parents were funny. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ Sell Out Boys will return to Kokomo for a live performance + local organizers are set to reveal additional details about the event soon. Kokomo Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kokomo High School is setting photo days for students as underclassmen will take yearbook pictures on Tuesday, September 2 in the auditorium during English classes and seniors on Monday, September 8 at the Art Awareness Center—picture retakes for all grades will occur on Wednesday, October 15. Parents of grades 9-11 may preorder photos while seniors will order after receiving proofs, and dress code rules will be enforced. Kokomo Red & Blue
- ➤ Kokomo High School is set for homecoming week with the theme 'Beat the Devil Out of 'Em' and dress-up days like Color Wars, Iconic Duos, Age Wars, Meme Day, and Spirit Day—clubs will display Spirit Sheets during the week. The Varsity Club will host a flag football game on Sept. 8 at Walter Cross Field—tickets cost $5 and girls must sign up by Sept. 2, with the big game scheduled on Sept. 12 against the Jeffersonville Red Devils. - ➤ The Indiana Department of Administration saved about $37.6 million for Hoosier taxpayers in its first six months under Gov. Braun’s leadership— the team also avoided $72.2 million in anticipated expenses. These efforts show a focused move to better manage state assets. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ Wrangler and Friends is a local farm at 2110 W Alto Rd in Kokomo that offers riding lessons, camp activities, birthday parties and events—featuring the famous miniature pony Wrangler and his friendly crew for family fun. - ➤ During Senior Night, Northwestern’s girls soccer team played against Kokomo and struck early with a 2-0 lead at halftime—Kokomo tried to mount a comeback after the break but Northwestern kept control to win 5-1. The Kokomo Post
- ➤ The Western Panthers lost 20-13 to the Indian Creek Braves on Aug. 22 when turnovers and miscues hurt their play—Western will try to rebound tonight as they face the Chargin' Chargers in North Montgomery. Kokomo Lantern
