- ➤ The Howard County Kids’ Fishing Clinic held its graduation tournament at the Kokomo Reservoir last Saturday — it is the successor to the 40-year Jim "Moose" Carden Fishing Clinic. The program aims to teach children basic fishing skills through sessions at Kokomo High School. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ A Kokomo woman, 24-year-old Krystal Cherika Scott, pleaded guilty to violating her supervised release for animal cruelty and has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison—followed by three years of supervised release—after an investigation that began on June 20. Kokomo Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Howard County Coroner’s Office reported that it investigated 63 deaths in the second quarter, finding 40 were from natural causes, 3 were suicides, and 19 were accidental—including 11 from drug overdoses at a total cost of $71,122 for tests and autopsies.
