- ➤ A few months ago, Kristina Pryor and her fiancé Parker Jones bought the former City of Firsts Adventure Park and have reopened it as Raceway Fun Park on the city's south side. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management declared an Air Quality Action Day from midnight tonight to midnight EDT Friday night and advised active individuals & those with respiratory illness to limit outdoor exposure. - ➤ The Duke Energy Foundation announced four grants this week to groups in central and north-central Indiana, including one in Howard County, to help workers learn in-demand job skills. The grants will build a pool of skilled workers plus boost the area’s ability to meet local employer needs. Kokomo Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ More than half the students at Logansport Community Schools speak a language other than English at home. Indiana University Kokomo and IU Southeast offer a hybrid certification program that lets teachers add English as a second language to their credentials—this program saw its first cohort complete this year and will expand in fall with additional educators joining from nearby districts.
