CULTURE NEWS

  • Renapalooza will be held on Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the State Theatre at 317 E. Market—created by Kailei Jarvis to honor her late daughter Serena—it will feature donations from Jelly Roll and Third Eye Blind to support the Serena Rose Jarvis Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Pharos-Tribune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Thomas Barry Daugherty, a longtime agriculture educator who taught at Maconaquah High School and worked at Ivy Tech, died on June 18th at Ascension St. Vincent in Kokomo. His visitation is today at Converse Church of Christ from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. + his funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow.  Giant.fm

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • South Webster Street is closed from Monday through Wednesday for repairs at its northern intersection with West Boulevard — a flagger is stationed at the nearby southern intersection. Pipeline Way will shut down today at 6 a.m. from Centerline Drive to South Webster Street for 90 days of major repairs.  Kokomo Lantern

  • Marsha Court Apartments opened its 64 fully renovated units on the southeast side yesterday—Kokomo resident Tim Paul joked that the renovation challenge nearly did him in—following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Kokomo Tribune
