  • Gloria Dunn transformed her backyard when she moved into her southwest side home with only six hostas, and her garden will be featured in the Annual Garden Stroll coming up this weekend. The event will highlight local gardens and community gardening efforts — organizers say more details will be shared soon.  Kokomo Tribune
  • The Kokomo Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free drop-in summer program for kids that runs from June 7 to July 22, with activities like crafts, games, and sports available Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 5 PM at several parks including Jackson Morrow Park — a site with a renovated playground and a splash pad coming soon. Families can join the program anytime to enjoy affordable outdoor fun.  The Kokomo Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Family and Social Services Administration Secretary Mitch Roob said he will change Indiana’s insurance program for low to middle income residents + improve benefits as part of his second term running the agency. He warned that congressional talks in Washington may alter the Healthy Indiana Plan + state revenue is expected to drop by $2 billion over the next two years.  Pharos-Tribune

  • Raceway Fun Park in Kokomo is reopening this Friday, June 20 under new ownership of Kristina Pryor and Parker Jones, who saved it from demolition+ and restored its classic charm.
