- ➤ Ivy Tech celebrated the 10th anniversary of its ASAP program last Thursday evening at Hingst Hall on the Kokomo campus— the event focused on more than academics and saving college costs. - ➤ The Indiana Commission for Higher Education awarded nearly 300 scholarships through the Next Generation Hoosier Educators program—local students including Regan McClain and Sydney Colescott agreed to teach at eligible schools for five years or repay the funds. More than 1,091 students applied for the record-breaking initiative that offers a renewable award of up to $10,000 a year for academic achievement. Giant.fm

- ➤ Flooding hit Kokomo and parts of Howard County Saturday after heavy morning rains dropped up to 3—6 inches in some areas. Water levels on Wildcat Creek near Jerome and in Kokomo rose above flood stage and were expected to fall below it early tomorrow. Kokomo Tribune
