Echelbarger, 43, was arrested on Wednesday after an eight-month investigation by Indiana State Police Peru Post revealed he fraudulently collected over $750,000 and secured more than $650,000 in loans using fake purchase orders while working as a salesman in Greentown—he now faces multiple felony charges and is held at Grant County Jail. - ➤ Augustus 'Augie' Mueller was named Tri-Central salutatorian for the class of 2025 after ranking in the top 10%, serving as vice president of student council, and playing varsity soccer and track—he will attend Indiana University to study environmental and sustainability studies. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ Alexis DeBard, a Taylor High School senior, earned the principal leadership award for her leadership in school clubs and will attend Purdue Polytechnic-Kokomo to study mechanical engineering.
