- ➤ Today the Kokomo Housing Authority and community partners launched the Summer Lunch Program to provide a hot meal and grab-n-go bag to up to 500 students each Wednesday in Howard County at Bon Air Park — Garden Square Apartments — and Pine Valley Apartments between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. until July 23. - ➤ Duke Energy Indiana is dedicating $200,000 to its Share the Light Fund to help families manage rising energy bills and stay cool during the summer. The company partners with local community action agencies to offer up to $300 per customer and has helped nearly 15,000 households with more than $4 million in past assistance. Kokomo Lantern
- ➤ Community First Bank of Indiana received the IBA Commitment to Community Award for banks with assets between $750 million and $3 billion—its efforts during 2024 included donating over $174,000, partnering with more than 100 nonprofits, and logging 2,000 volunteer hours, with the award presented on May 29 at the IBA Mega Conference.
