  • On May 27, 420 workers at StarPlus Energy in Kokomo signed cards to join the UAW and the company recognized the union without interference—marking a win amid a growing trend of union victories at battery plants in the region.   • Indiana State Police began investigating the death of inmate Amanda Sullivan — found unresponsive by corrections officers just after 7 p.m. on May 24 at Howard County Jail — and an autopsy is pending to determine her cause of death.  Kokomo Lantern
  • Indiana State Police began investigating the death of inmate Amanda L. Sullivan, 47, from Kokomo after Howard County deputies found her unresponsive near 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the jail and administered CPR before she was pronounced dead while an autopsy will determine the cause.  Giant.fm

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Kokomo Park Band will perform free summer concerts in Highland Park & continue a musical tradition that began in 1902 with roots from the 1800s. The band’s concerts will offer live music for locals as the season unfolds.  Kokomo Tribune
