- ➤ Family Service Association received a $27,500 Community Multiplier grant—$25,000 from FHLBank of Indianapolis and $2,500 from Community First Bank—to support Jackson Street Commons’ permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless Veterans. The funds will cover services like mental health and financial counseling and job training in a program open until October 1. Kokomo Lantern
- ➤ Markland Mall announced the annual pop-up fair will move to the Kokomo Event & Conference Center parking lot at 1500 N. Reed Road and run from today until June 1. The event will offer rides, food, and family entertainment provided by North American Midway Entertainment — the change of location does not alter the fair’s tradition of fun. The Kokomo Post

- ➤ Aria Wooden, an 18-year-old from Galveston, was arrested on Tuesday after an FBI tip led the Cass County Sheriff’s Office to a social media post that threatened a school shooting at Kokomo High School — she faces a Level 5 felony for intimidation. Giant.fm
- ➤ Police arrested five juvenile males (ages 14 to 16) this week in Russiaville after they vandalized the Youth Baseball Complex and several other community areas, and the suspects now face misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief while being held at Kinsey Youth Center. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ A new bookstore called Secondhand Stories opened in downtown Kokomo at 107 W Mulberry St. Owner Sarah Janssen created the shop to keep books out of landfills and offer free coffee and gift wrapping (open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
