EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Peace Scholarship committee held its annual awards program, inviting seniors from local schools in and around Howard County to submit essays on achieving peace; the committee has awarded scholarships to top essays since 1993. Kokomo Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Braun praised Chariot Automotive Group and CorePlacement Personnel Services for advancing workforce training through Power Up Indiana during Indiana Small Business Month. The companies offer structured training (with certifications and wage increases) to help local workers build long-term careers. Giant.fm
- ➤ Governor Mike Braun signed a law that stops students from using personal cell phones and wireless devices during school hours. Indiana schools will soon enforce a no-device or structured storage policy while keeping exceptions for emergencies and special education needs. Giant.fm
