- ➤ Fifth graders from Ouabache Elementary visited the recently reopened Swope Art Museum on May 12 to view a new gallery showcasing art by local middle and high school students. Volunteer docent Elsa Morris told the children she hopes to see their work displayed again in the future. Kokomo Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Madison Heights High School graduate Jason Williamson (51) will travel into space next year as a crew member on the Purdue 1 mission launching from Anderson. He will fulfill his lifelong dream as the all-Boilermaker flight takes off. Kokomo Tribune
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Porter and Sutton Lichlyter finished kindergarten at Harney Elementary and planned to start first grade together, but the family faced a setback when one twin was diagnosed with leukemia a month ago (the situation is still developing). Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ On May 8, the Northwestern Tigers beat the Wildkats (13-1) at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. Junior Ayden Giles and freshman Ajax Garcia led the win and set the stage for a nine-game winning streak. Kokomo Lantern
