- ➤ Kokomo Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening on the north side near the 1100 block of North Purdum Street — officers were called just before 8 p.m. and ask the public for any information. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ The Kokomo School Board appointed Joey Hurlocker Monday evening to serve the remainder of Charley Hinkle’s term ending in 2028 after Hinkle died on April 15 — the board said. Kokomo Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lane closures on Indiana 931 will begin today to allow milling and paving of a large stretch of road (between Markland Avenue and the south junction of U.S. 31). The milling will occur at night with paving to follow the next day, according to the state transportation department. Kokomo Tribune
