- ➤ Kokomo Humane Society is joining a nationwide program to help return stray dogs to their homes. The Paws in the Field Challenge will provide the shelter with up to five field service kits for animal control officers. Kokomo Tribune

- ➤ Two prominent 80s rock bands and the lead singer of the 70s rock band Grand Funk Railroad will headline the Haynes Apperson Festival—festival organizers said the event will open on Thursday, July 3 with Grammy Award-nominated Great White performing hit songs such as Once Bitten, Twice Shy, Save Your Love and Rock Me. - ➤ Taylor High School will hold its senior awards program on May 18 at 2 p.m. at the school, and more than 40 $1,000 scholarships—along with additional grants and awards—will be announced during the event. Kokomo Tribune
