  • The National Association of Letter Carriers is sponsoring today’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive as postal customers drop off non-perishable items like canned meat, fruit, and vegetables by their mailboxes; letter carriers and volunteers will collect the donations for local hunger relief organizations—donors are asked not to donate expired or open food or items in glass jars.  Giant.fm
  • The Haynes-Apperson Festival in Kokomo is set for July 3 to 5 and will offer free concerts with Great White opening on July 3, Night Ranger on July 4, and Mark Farner with Henry Lee Summer headlining on July 5—families will enjoy a parade honoring veterans, carnival rides, food vendors, and the option to purchase $20 VIP tickets starting June 5.  Kokomo Lantern

  • Brick St. Deli & Notion Co. is a new spot on Brick Buckeye Street in Kokomo that opened without set hours or a posted menu — co-owned by local entrepreneur Kyle Gibson and partner Dustin Ogle, the deli serves unique sandwiches and a quirky atmosphere. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Indiana University Kokomo School of Education recently honored nearly 35 new teachers and celebrated the 2025 Indiana Teacher of the Year at its pinning ceremony—faculty and staff praised the graduates for their commitment to shaping young minds.  Kokomo Lantern
  • Indiana University Kokomo experts will discuss how to use AI tools at a free event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 4 at Bier Brewery in Noblesville. Patrick Motl — dean of the School of Sciences and professor of physics — and Paul Cook, professor of English, will lead the conversation.  Kokomo Tribune
  • Eighty-two high school students from Logansport earned certificates at Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo on Friday morning, with 24 earning associate degrees and other local students from Cass County graduating + pioneer student Makenna Strycker may be the first high schooler to do so.  Pharos-Tribune

  • The Indiana State Police has partnered with INDYCAR driver Felix Rosenqvist to launch a recruitment campaign that features his helmet design and digital media.   • A new study showed that costs for caring for Hoosiers with Alzheimer’s and other dementias have risen—nearly 122,000 seniors are affected—and 219,000 unpaid caregivers cost the state almost $7 billion annually.  Pharos-Tribune
