Flint Farmer—a Kokomo man accused in the 2016 death of 18-year-old Karena McClerkin—will begin his murder trial with jury selection Tuesday and faces a charge that could land him in prison for several decades if convicted.

Local officials said that the new state property tax relief bill will cost Howard County over $27 million in tax revenue over the next three years.

County leaders expect the bill to affect local budgets and spending plans in the future.

Kokomo’s Favorite Postman is Retiring with 40 Years of Service

USPS local postman, Shelton Quarles, retires this Wednesday, April 30, with 40 years of service. His retirement open house will be held May 10 at Carver Community Center from 4-7 p.m.
