CULTURE NEWS

  • KHS will stage Grease on May 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium—director Randi Weeks chose the musical because it fits the cast of about 75, budget, and available time, and tickets cost $10 with free admission for children under 4.  Kokomo Red & Blue

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo got a $50,000 grant from NIPSCO today—money that will help expand its program for English-language learners and provide job training for local residents.  Kokomo Tribune
  • Kokomo High School seniors are reminded to meet key graduation deadlines including May 1 national decision day, May 2 Senior Signing Day, May 7 3 in 1 Breakfast, May 8 cap and gown pickup, May 16 Senior Recognition Evening, finals from May 19 to 22, May 23 KatWalk, May 27 Senior Send-off Week, and May 30 graduation and Final Fling—students must complete all tasks to be ready for graduation.  Kokomo Red & Blue
  • Last week, the Kokomo Leadership Academy (KLA) held its annual leadership summit where Bridges staff led activities, guest speakers Kalena James and Vince Lorenz spoke, and KHS counselors hosted breakout sessions.   • On April 25, the Wildkat chapter of Quill and Scroll inducted seven new members — awarding graduation honor cords to senior members at the Kokomo High School ceremony.   • Kokomo High School extended the order deadline for the 2025 yearbook so students can buy online or see advisor Amanda Marvin in room 126 if paying with cash or check—yearbooks cost $80 until May 23 and extra copies will sell for $90 at fall distribution when the books arrive.  Kokomo Red & Blue
  • Northwestern Cybertooth from Northwestern High School earned its spot among the top 32 robotics teams at the world championship—going undefeated in division and playoff rounds to reach the elimination round at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology 2025 Championship.  Kokomo Tribune
