Last week—the city of Kokomo issued a request for proposals to find a new owner for its local baseball team that will also manage events at the downtown stadium—bids are invited for baseball-only use or a comprehensive lease.

City officials announced that Markland Avenue—between Berkley and Dixon roads—will be closed for repair several days next week, with milling, repaving and guard rail installation scheduled from Wednesday until April 26th.

Anglers in Kokomo should be cautious as early spring fishing brings risks from sudden weather changes (rain, wind) and dangerous water conditions with floating debris.

Experts recommend extra clothing and safety gear such as PFDs (personal flotation devices) to help prevent injuries while on the water.
