EDUCATION NEWS

- ➤ Kokomo Grace United Methodist Church has made scholarship applications available online for its members—two special awards include the Walter Mayer Ministerial Education Scholarship for those pursuing Christian ministry and the Widner/Voorhis Music Scholarship for a Howard County resident studying music. - ➤ Pioneer Elementary’s robotics team completed its second season of competition after the COVID-19 pandemic halted the program in 2020, and new fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders rebuilt the program with help from teachers Carey Zech and Sarah Schwarz + the team enjoyed a smoother return compared to its debut season. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials approved plans to rebuild Station 6 on its current site along Ind. 931, expanding the building to 16,000 square feet, adding a third apparatus bay, and accommodating 10 firefighters.
