- ➤ Northwestern School Corporation is planning to use a bond to pay for new electronic devices after eliminating student fees. The school board approved a $1.5 million bond project during its March meeting. Kokomo Tribune
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Environmental Management will hold a public hearing on air permit modifications for JWA CO., LTD at Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo, Health Professions Center—Hingst Hall on April 10 at 6:00 p.m. and will accept written comments until the public notice period ends on April 14 as IDEM reviews the proposed changes. - ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that Southway Boulevard east of Indiana 931 will be completely closed starting Monday for pipe and road paving work — the closure will end by Saturday, April 12, weather permitting. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs announced today that non-profit organizations registered with the Indiana Secretary of State can apply for Grants for Veterans’ Services to support programs like suicide prevention, housing, and job assistance for Indiana veterans. Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. EDT on May 1 and awards (ranging from $10,000 to $75,000) will fund projects starting June 1. Giant.fm
