Good morning, Kokomo.

Public safety professionals held a tug-of-war tournament at the Kokomo Family YMCA on March 21 to benefit the American Red Cross blood drive.

The event—featuring teams from the Kokomo Police Department, Fire Department, and Howard County agencies—collected about 50 units of blood and helped save lives.

Students studying fine arts can apply today for the annual Cole Porter Scholarship, which supports majors in music, visual arts, performing arts, and arts education.

Late February, Rocket Software donated 30 laptops to Carver Community Center to boost its STEM education programs.

Board president Bob Knowling and Executive Director JC Barnett III said the donation (supporting extra classes and community events) will help youth and adults gain vital tech skills.

Today, Attorney General Todd Rokita and the Indiana Gaming Commission alerted Kokomo residents to an illegal gambling website and Facebook ads that misuse the names and logos of licensed Indiana casinos+ which lack state-required safety protections.

The agencies are planning to take action against those behind the ads+ and advise residents to verify sites before sharing personal information.
