- ➤ Detectives arrested 26-year-old Keith Hall on Tuesday, March 18 in Bunker Hill for failing to update his sex offender registration after a five-month investigation spurred by cybertip reports that involved multiple agencies — including Kokomo Police Department — and led to the seizure of several electronic devices; the investigation remains active. - ➤ The Kokomo Summer Concert Series will feature Holler in the Heartland at Foster Park with headliner John R. Miller, Buffalo Wabs and The Price Hill Hustle, and Darrin Hacquard scheduled to perform at 5 p.m. (Kokomo Performing Arts Pavilion) as a free event where attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair (for seating). - ➤ Students from Kokomo and Western high schools are set to compete in tough state music competitions this weekend—Kokomo High’s Karisma Singers will perform today at 6 p.m. at Pike High School in the Large School State Show Choir Finals. - ➤ Nearly 60 IU Kokomo students participated in a four-week poverty simulation (part of KEY) where they worked in small groups at the Kelley Student Center to manage daily tasks like paying rent and buying groceries. Senior Dani Gomez and junior Anna Becker earned a state runner-up finish in duo routines while Gomez placed sixth and Becker placed fourth in solo competitions; the team practiced twice a week for three hours each session to prepare for the event.
