- ➤ A Senate committee approved Senate Bill 78 to limit student cellphone use in schools on Wednesday, Jan. 10 after adding protections for students with medical needs; it passed 12-1 and now moves to the full Senate chamber. Kokomo Tribune
- ➤ Site work for a new apartment complex will start in the third quarter while the Kokomo Board of Zoning Appeals elected new officers on Jan. 10 (Jeff Hiemlick as chairman and Tina Durham as vice chairman) during its first meeting of the year. Kokomo Tribune
